Do you have someone in your life “standing n the need of prayer?” Do you need a lunch hour once a week when you can contemplate? Trinity + St Peter’s offers a Tuesday Noontime Prayer service. At the service, we lift up the names of those on our Church prayer list individually, as well as those in our hearts. We meet in the Chapel (on Tuesdays at Noon, natch!) All are welcome! Doors open at 11:45 AM. Tea and PB&J sandwiches follow. For information, contact Deborah, firstname.lastname@example.org.

THIS WEEK AT TRINITY†ST. PETER'S
September 17-23, 2017
Trinity†St. Peter’s is a vibrant, welcoming, and diverse Christ-centered spiritual community drawn together by the power of the Holy Spirit and by our passion to serve. You are invited to join us as we seek an ever deeper connection to God, to creation, and to one another.
Coffee Hour Ministry
Our move to the new space for coffee hour is an opportunity for newcomers to the ministry of hospitality at church to come forward. Do you like to bake? Or maybe you just have a Costco card and can bring in a wheel of Brie and some crackers? Please bring all food “ready to serve” as preparation and clean up facilities are limited. Please make yourself known to Eula Loftin who is graciously coordinating our coffee hour ministry.
Requests for New Nametags
To request a nametag, please use the sign-up sheet hanging on the nametag rack or go to: https://trinity-stpeters.squarespace.com/connect/ There is room on the name tag for up to two extra lines of information, such as "Deacon", "Molly's Husband", or "Loves to Paint". Your safety and comfort are important to us. If you have concerns about our community life please contact Pastor Trish.

Welcoming: a privilege and a dilemma
We at Trinity†St. Peterʼs are blessed with a long history of welcoming all into our community life. This includes those who are marginalized and, among them, those who struggle with severe mental illness. Sometimes being an inclusive, welcoming community can be complicated!
Compassion takes many forms, some of which are less obvious than what we all envision when we think of that word. Compassion also calls us to teach appropriate behavior and to set appropriate, consistent boundaries with persons whose behavior affects, either physically or emotionally, the safety of the community. The compassionate goal of setting those boundaries is to create the opportunity for a person to remain within the community while learning more appropriate behavior. There might be cases, however, in which the only appropriate response may be to ask that person to leave for the day.
You can help to create a safe environment for all by letting Pastor Trish or any vestry member know if you have been approached by a person whose behavior has felt inappropriate or has caused you to feel unsafe when we are together at church. You may be assured that, whenever possible, every effort will be made to create the opportunity for that person to remain among us through compassionate intervention.
LIVING THE GOOD NEWS -- 10-10:45 am - St Mary's Chapel
Join us to discuss the day's lectionary readings. This will prepare you for the service and deepen your understanding of the Scriptures. We will sit with our coffee around the table and delve more deeply into the texts, using a first rate ecumenical Bible commentary: Living the Good News.
All are welcome!! Questions? email email@example.com
Taizé Mass - Sundays at 9:00 AM
Beginning on September 10 at 9:00Am, Trinity†St. Peter's will offer a Taizé style Mass. Simple chants, moments of silence, the Eucharistic mystery will offer a peaceful and transcendent way to celebrate your Sunday morning.
Michelle Hilferty will come aboard as our new Song Leader. Michelle is a Bay Area native and discovered her passion for singing before she could even talk. She would say music was her first real language. After her debut performance at four years old, Michelle spent her childhood singing at her local church and went on to study the voice and acting into adulthood. Michelle believes in the peaceful joy we can find in ourselves, one another, and more importantly, in our personal relationship with God. As a dedicated actor and singer, she continues to explore her love of the arts and her commitment to spirituality. She is so excited and beyond grateful to share this enlightening Taize experience with all of you!
A Special Concert on October 1st
On Sunday, October 1st, at 5:00pm we will celebrate Robert Gurney's 25th Anniversary at Trinity with a gala concert. Robert will perform on the E.M. Skinner organ and be joined by the Soloists and Choir of Trinity-St. Peter's, and members of the San Francisco Lyric Chorus.
