Do you have someone in your life “standing n the need of prayer?” Do you need a lunch hour once a week when you can contemplate? Trinity + St Peter’s offers a Tuesday Noontime Prayer service. At the service, we lift up the names of those on our Church prayer list individually, as well as those in our hearts. We meet in the Chapel (on Tuesdays at Noon, natch!) All are welcome! Doors open at 11:45 AM. Tea and PB&J sandwiches follow. For information, contact Deborah, firstname.lastname@example.org.

THIS WEEK AT TRINITY†ST. PETER'S
December 14 - December 21, 2017
Trinity†St. Peter’s is a vibrant, welcoming, and diverse Christ-centered spiritual community drawn together by the power of the Holy Spirit and by our passion to serve. You are invited to join us as we seek an ever deeper connection to God, to creation, and to one another.
Coffee Hour Ministry
Our move to the new space for coffee hour is an opportunity for newcomers to the ministry of hospitality at church to come forward. Do you like to bake? Or maybe you just have a Costco card and can bring in a wheel of Brie and some crackers? Please bring all food “ready to serve” as preparation and clean up facilities are limited. Please make yourself known to Eula Loftin who is graciously coordinating our coffee hour ministry.
Requests for New Nametags
To request a nametag, please use the sign-up sheet hanging on the nametag rack or go to: https://trinity-stpeters.squarespace.com/connect/ There is room on the name tag for up to two extra lines of information, such as "Deacon", "Molly's Husband", or "Loves to Paint". Your safety and comfort are important to us. If you have concerns about our community life please contact Pastor Trish.

Imago Dei Gallery is now open!
After the worship service, you are invited to head downstairs to browse the art on the walls of the recently renovated hallway space. A feast for the eyes awaits!!
On December 9th, Imago Dei hosted it’s first art opening, featuring local San Francisco artist, Anthony Anchundo. Join us from 6pm to 9pm for a champagne reception and a chance to meet the artist! Anthony began painting seriously in 1986 and immediately explored the possibilities of abstraction. He attended Chabot College where he met painting instructor Neill Studley, a student of Richard Diebenkorn. Neill and the school of California Abstract Expressionism became a larger influence on Anthony's work. He studied privately with Neill four years after Chabot, pushing the boundaries of form and composition.
Imago Dei is a venue for artists to show their work, a space for pop-up culinary events, wine tastings, and social gatherings. Please join us in spreading the word and come for an amazing opening reception to inaugurate this new ministry at TSP!
Ragazzi Continuo - Winter's Warmth Concert, Sunday December 17, 7:30pm
This December, Ragazzi Continuo is proud to present it's 2017 holiday concert series, Winter's Warmth. In a season known for its cold and darkness, Continuo has drawn inspiration from the myriad holiday traditions born out of light and warmth. The program will take you on a journey from the cold wonder of Thomas Tallis’ The Town Lay Hushed to Matthew Culloton's mirthful setting of In Dulci Jubilo.
Celebrate the Festival of Lights with a traditional setting of S'vivon and feel the warmth of the hearth with Canadian composer Diane Loomer’s Yuletide Fires and the ever classic Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On an Open Fire). Audiences will also enjoy a Christmas hymn written in the language of the Huron people and the boisterous, even rowdy, Boar's Head Carol. Featuring a diverse and exceptionally accessible program for audiences of all ages, we invite you bring the whole family — this is not a concert to be missed!
Christmas Eve Services: 9am, 11am, 11pm.
Please join us on December 24th, for the Fourth Sunday of Advent and also Christmas Eve! Every few years, the two feasts converge on a single Sunday. We will celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Advent at the 9am and 11am morning services, and Christmas Eve in the evening. Join us for Christmas Carols and Anthems at 10:30pm, followed by Christmas Eve Mass at 11:00pm and a champagne and chocolate reception to follow. Please note, there will be no Christmas Day service.
Welcoming: a privilege and a dilemma
We at Trinity†St. Peterʼs are blessed with a long history of welcoming all into our community life. This includes those who are marginalized and, among them, those who struggle with severe mental illness. Sometimes being an inclusive, welcoming community can be complicated!
Compassion takes many forms, some of which are less obvious than what we all envision when we think of that word. Compassion also calls us to teach appropriate behavior and to set appropriate, consistent boundaries with persons whose behavior affects, either physically or emotionally, the safety of the community. The compassionate goal of setting those boundaries is to create the opportunity for a person to remain within the community while learning more appropriate behavior. There might be cases, however, in which the only appropriate response may be to ask that person to leave for the day.
You can help to create a safe environment for all by letting Pastor Trish or any vestry member know if you have been approached by a person whose behavior has felt inappropriate or has caused you to feel unsafe when we are together at church. You may be assured that, whenever possible, every effort will be made to create the opportunity for that person to remain among us through compassionate intervention.
membership: A state of belonging, as in a group (Alright, but what is the definition of ‘belonging’?) belonging: to be rightly placed in a specified position; acceptance as a natural member or part of a relationship (I couldn’t turn back now; I had to look up ‘relationship’) relationship: the way in which two or more people or things are connected (And ‘connected’ is …?) connected: persons or things that are linked together.
