Introducing our new Priest in Charge
The Rev. Patricia “Trish” Cunningham
Mother Trish comes to Trinity+St. Peter with diverse experience from ministry in three dioceses of the Episcopal Church. Ordained at Christ Cathedral, Hartford, in 2007, she has served churches in transition in Connecticut, Colorado and Minnesota. She has also been a chaplain in two hospitals, a nursing home, a women’s prison, a yacht club and an outdoor ministry to the homeless. Her particular passion is ministry to and with young adults.
As the parent of four young women, ages 20 to 27, she has a vested interest in this age group! She is enthusiastic about “Trinity+St. Peter’s vision to reach out to young adults who are seeking meaning and connection. She says, “This resonates with my sense of where God is calling me. I enjoy nothing better than introducing young people to friendship with Jesus and inviting them into community with others who seek to know and share God’s love.”
Mother Trish holds master’s degrees from Yale Divinity School, the London School of Economics and Emory University, where she studied with Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Prior to ordination, she held positions in corporate sales, directed the education department and public relations at an art museum, taught history and philosophy to high school and college students and was a journalist.
Born in Vancouver, Canada, to British expatriates,Trish was raised in California, Sydney, Australia and the U.K. Favorite pastimes include doing anything outdoors, watching British television and “Words with Friends.”
